Pongal/ Makar Sankranti

The Makar Sankranti/ Pongal holidays starts on 10 January 2021 and ends on 20 January 2021, total 10 days as per Tamil Nadu government academy calendar. So, parent can plan accordingly for their kid vacation such as hill station visit, Nani house trip, hobby classes and more.

Dasara/ Aayudha Pooja

The Dasara holidays starts on Friday, October 1, 2021 and ends Friday, October 15, 2021, total 15 days (Ashtami and Naomi on 14 October, 2021 as per Tamil calendar). Ayudha Pooja or Astra Puja is also part of the Navratri.

Tamil New Year 2021 / Puthandu

Tamil New Year known as Puthandu which is first day of the year on the Tamil solar calendar and first day of Chithirai month. The People celebrate this day as family time and Feasting, gift-giving, visiting relative homes and temples. It mostly falls on 14 April and the day is also known for birth anniversary of ‘Babasaheb’ Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti. So, TN govt. has declared Tuesday, 14 April 2021 as public holiday.
