Established in the year 1994 by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) council is one among the two prominent educational bodies in India responsible for approving and certifying degree programmes and courses offered by higher educational institutions (HEIs) such as engineering colleges and universities. An NBA certificate substantiates the presence of good technical education in the institution at undergraduate and graduate levels by recognizing the academic programme(s)/department(s) with an exceptional curriculum that contributes to the overall development of students. Thus acquiring the certification greatly aids to benefit the institutions' publicity and popularity. Given below are the prescribed process, eligibility criteria, and list of documents required for the Institutions looking to apply for the accreditation.
While the NAAC Accreditation process focuses on grading the HEIs using the 7 Criteria and 34 Key Indicators method, the National Accreditation board primarily concentrates for certifying programme(s) and course(s) offered by the institutions.
The systematic workflow of NBA Accreditation Process:
Educational Institutions either in Tier I or in the Tier II system ought to fill and submit the Pre-qualifier form available on the board's official website. Upon receiving the approval, HEIs must formulate and submit the Self-Assessment Report.
