Parents are on high alert after admission details for Delhi/ NCR nursery admissions for 2019 – 20 academic session were announced. The registration procedures for nursery grade is estimated to begin in mid-December 2018 and end by early January 2019.
Delhi has close to 1,700 registered private institutions which offer Pre-K, Nursery and Kindergarten programs. Institutions such as Kidzee, EuroKids, AuroKids, Bachpan and LittleMillennium are some of the best schools that exclusively specialise in early childhood education.
KIDS WAITING FOR PRESCHOOL BE LIKE:
Earlier schools followed 62 listed criteria. The criteria included parents’ education, profession, income, food habits, and written or oral interviews of both students and parents. This practice was nullified by the Delhi Government in 2016.
Private schools were advised to utilise ERP Software and follow the Point System method for screening the admission applications. The Point System considers alumni, sibling, and neighbourhood criteria (maximum weightage on minimum distance between kid’s location and school) while admitting kids to schools.
Directorate of Education (DoE) released age guidelines for admitting kids into nursery. An age limit of 4-years was fixed for nursery kids, 5 for kindergarten and 6 for Class I students.

The schools are directed to distribute registration forms along with the course fee on their respective school websites from December 15, 2018. The last date to submit the form is January 7, 2019.
Parents must pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 25 as admission registration fee.
Parents can view the list of selected candidates on the school website on February 4, 2019.
